This morning I had a plan.\u00a0 \u00a0I was going to go to ride around, and eventually end up in a certain area.\u00a0 \u00a0I researched hotels in that area, and picked one that I thought would be good.\u00a0 \u00a0I then forgot all about it as I rode around, changing plans and direction frequently.\u00a0 As I rode, I changed what my plans would be for the next day or two.<\/p>\n

Then, about 5pm I thought it would be a good idea to set up a hotel.\u00a0 \u00a0This is not really necessary in this area this time of year, as there are tons of choices, but I like to have a destination.\u00a0 \u00a0I opened the app, found the hotel I had researched, and since it was starting to rain, I booked it quickly.<\/p>\n

After I booked it, I realized I was still an hour away if I went the direct route.\u00a0 \u00a0That was fine.\u00a0 \u00a0But then I realized that the hotel was no longer really in a good central area for tomorrows plan.\u00a0 \u00a0Not an issue, I will just change tomorrow’s plan.\u00a0 The new plan was actually better.<\/p>\n

THEN I got to the hotel.\u00a0 \u00a0It was in an ideal spot for where I had planned to ride tomorrow.\u00a0 \u00a0It had a great restaurant.\u00a0 Everything about the place was ideal.\u00a0 \u00a0Lots of interesting places to sit, comfortable chairs in lots of rooms.\u00a0 \u00a0But the restaurant was closed because there were few guests on a Sunday.\u00a0 \u00a0I had anticipated this, and there is a restaurant 50 meters away that was open.\u00a0 The owner, since there were so few guests chose to close down and leave.<\/p>\n

That meant there was just me and some fictional number of guests.\u00a0 \u00a0As far as I can tell from the parking lot, there is at best one other guest.\u00a0 \u00a0I did see someone in the pool.\u00a0 \u00a0I think he was real.\u00a0 \u00a0He looked a lot like Jack Nicholson.<\/p>\n

SO I am sitting here, alone in a small hotel in one of the gathering rooms which could easily hold 50 people.\u00a0 \u00a0The wind is kicking up outside and some rain (no snow though, sorry Jack).\u00a0 \u00a0It feels a little like The Shining.\u00a0 \u00a0Or like I have my own personal mountain retreat.\u00a0 \u00a0I do have the company of a few fish though.\u00a0 \u00a0One is very bug eyed and is staring at me.\u00a0 \u00a0I think the water is turning red.<\/p>\n

This really is a nice hotel, and if I end up coming back to this area, I will probably choose it again, just not on a Sunday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
