! !"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am so far behind on posts that I am not sure if I even know where I am right now.\u00a0 \u00a0You will need to be signed up to my blog posts if you want to be kept informed real time.\u00a0 \u00a0I will only post links to FB or E-Mail when I have a long boring post.<\/p>\n<p>So, as posted earlier, after 27 days of riding together, Nancy and I went in different directions.\u00a0 \u00a0When\u00a0 you set off alone after being with people for a long time, there is always a short period where you feel a bit lonely.\u00a0 You have to re-learn how to enjoy eating alone, making decisions alone and riding alone.\u00a0 For me it takes a day or two at most.\u00a0 \u00a0I like travelling alone for the most part.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Riding alone is the easy part.\u00a0 \u00a0When you ride with others, even if you are riding with a passenger, you are still kinda&#8217; alone.\u00a0 \u00a0I have never had a twinge of loneliness when riding.<\/p>\n<p>Until now that is.\u00a0 \u00a0I could not understand it.\u00a0 \u00a0A few times during the first two days I had that feeling of loneliness while riding.\u00a0 \u00a0That makes no sense.\u00a0 \u00a0I have voices in my head to keep me company.\u00a0 \u00a0Music that is produced in my head to sing to.\u00a0 \u00a0Or maybe it is more like yelling.\u00a0 \u00a0I can&#8217;t hear myself, so I think I sing wonderfully.<\/p>\n<p>Then I realized what was going on.\u00a0 \u00a0My helmet was silent.\u00a0 \u00a0Where were the voices?\u00a0 \u00a0Where was the music?\u00a0 \u00a0It was terrible.\u00a0 \u00a0How could I be all alone in here?<\/p>\n<p>During our trip, Nancy loaned me a Sena Helmet Communicator.\u00a0 \u00a0This allows piping of music and GPS instructions through bluetooth to speakers in your helmet.\u00a0 \u00a0It also allows bike to bike communications.\u00a0 \u00a0I have never used anything like this.\u00a0 \u00a0I thought the idea was terrible.\u00a0 \u00a0I once suggested to Irene that we get a pair of them.\u00a0 \u00a0She said I was only allowed to get one.\u00a0 \u00a0For MY helmet.<\/p>\n<p>As it turns out, it really is a great device when riding with others.\u00a0 \u00a0You can let the other people know if you are pulling over, getting ready to pass, completely F&#8217;N lost or whatever.\u00a0 \u00a0It greatly enhances safety.\u00a0 \u00a0It is also nice to be able to point out interesting things on the side of the road, finding out if anyone else thinks that roadkill looks fresh enough to harvest, or if anyone is in need of gas.<\/p>\n<p>What it does not do is let you talk to yourself.\u00a0 \u00a0It is hard to know if the other rider turned on their Sena in getting ready to speak.\u00a0 \u00a0So if you are doing what I sometimes do, yelling (I call it singing) random phrases from whatever song is bouncing around in your head, it can seem really weird if the other riders get to hear you yell BAT OUT OF HELLLLLLL or something like that.<\/p>\n<p>So the voices in my helmet, and my talking and singing to myself stopped for 4 weeks.\u00a0 \u00a0 It was not until I realized it that they started to come back.\u00a0 \u00a0I was no longer alone.\u00a0 \u00a0Unfortunately, the first bit of music that came back was the theme song to the Laverne and Shirley Show.\u00a0 \u00a0At least it wasn&#8217;t ABBA.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am so far behind on posts that I am not sure if I even know where I am right now.\u00a0 \u00a0You will need to be signed up to my blog posts if you want to be kept informed real time.\u00a0 \u00a0I will only post links to FB or E-Mail when I have a long &hellip; <\/p>\n<p class=\"link-more\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whereisbobl.com\/blog\/2018\/09\/03\/get-outta-my-head\/\" class=\"more-link\">Continue reading<span class=\"screen-reader-text\"> &#8220;GET OUTTA MY HEAD !
