As I stated in an earlier post, Sighisoura, Romania is the birthplace of Vlad Tepes, also known as Vlad the Impaler, the inspiration for the story Dracula. <\/span><\/p>\n

You can visit the room where he was born (how do they know that) for only $1.25<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Citadel is impressive, but not huge and far from as pretty as some other towns. I had not intended to spend much more than an hour or two here, but since I am staying within the citadel walls, I wandered around for more. It was raining when I got here, so there were not a lot of tourists. Even the tour groups were pretty thin, I assume many stayed in their bus or at the hotel. That made it nice to walk around.\u00a0 \u00a0Then the temperatures dropped severely the second day.\u00a0 \u00a0Few tourists them as well.<\/p>\n

Not a bad town to wander around, but it won’t take too long.<\/p>\n

There is an old church\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The church has a crypt, complete with windows to see coffins.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And of course, Dracula\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This was not open when we walked by, but impressive enough from the outside.

The BnB Host insisted we needed to take a walk to the top of this hill, 4 km away, to see the view.\u00a0 \u00a0I was going to blow it off, but the woman from Australia was going to walk it with her 5 year old son Malin.\u00a0 \u00a0I looked at the map and street view and thought i would not be able to enjoy the day if I knew these two were walking down those streets alone, and i needed some exercise so I went with them.\u00a0 \u00a0It was a nice walk, and the only sketchy part was not that bad.\u00a0 A nice walk through a forest for some of it.\u00a0 Malin was endlessly entertaining, as he never, and I mean never stopped.\u00a0 \u00a0Talking, moving, running.\u00a0 \u00a0He had to have traveled 20 km for our 8.<\/p>\n

The view was worth the walk, I suppose.\u00a0 \u00a0It overlooked the citadel.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

That night our hosts had dinner again.\u00a0 It was not free, as I had originally thought, but it was super cheap and just as good as the night before.\u00a0 \u00a0Malin kept us entertained with singing and dancing and John the host brought out his Harmonica, and a plastic recorder (flute) for Malin to play.\u00a0 Malin ended up playing the Harmonica as well.\u00a0 \u00a0Sometimes both at one time.\u00a0 \u00a0Good times.<\/p>\n

Malin decided that my name reminded him of some Australian children’s show character.\u00a0 Robert Robert.\u00a0 A Poison Dart Frog.\u00a0 \u00a0SO, not only am I King Bob, but I am Robert Robert the Poison Dart Frog.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

That blurr in the background is Malin.\u00a0 \u00a0Moving as always.\u00a0 \u00a0Really, remember, this is after an 8 km hike, then they walked 1.5 km to and from the train station then a walk around the citadel.\u00a0 \u00a0 I don’t know how he did it.\u00a0 \u00a0And always in a great mood.\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n
